FUNERAL INFORMATION POSTED
It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the untimely death of Fr. Jim Wiesner, CSP, Pastor of St. Austin Church.
He was found dead on Wednesday morning, November 18, at 8:30 a.m. He appears to have died peacefully in his sleep during the night. Fr. Wiesner did not show up for the 8 a.m. Mass. After the mass was finished visiting Paulists Frs. DeSiano & Behnke and seminarian Tom Gibbons checked his room. He already seemed have to been dead for several hours. Austin EMS was called and responded within minutes, only to confirm that Fr. Wiesner had died through the night.
Due to the suddenness of Fr. Wiesner’s death, it will take some time to make arrangements. The Paulist Fathers and the St. Austin staff ask us for our prayers in this sad time for our local Catholic community; for the repose of the soul of Fr. Jim and for his family.
Funeral for Father Jim Wiesner, CSP, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at St. Austin Church in Austin, Tex. Burial next day at 10 a.m.
